The 7 most bizarre drinks in the world

drinkIntroduction

After the most bizarre specialties in the world, I had the idea to watch what the drink world has to offer, and I was not disappointed.

I must say that even if I am adventurous, there is not much hope of me trying one of these drinks one day. I’ll let you judge for yourselves.

Here are the 7 most bizarre drinks I have discovered:

  • Airag – Mongolia

Airag is an unpasteurized mare’s milk fermented at room temperature for several days.

  • Mutton Eye Juice – Mongolia

You have clearly seen, a sheep’s eye is added to a mixture of tomato juice and vinegar. It is said to be great for hangovers, full of vitamins and good for the health.

  • Kopi Luwak Coffee – Indonesia

The Kopi Luwak coffee comes from the Luwak. The Luwak is a small animal resembling a cat, which eats the ripe coffee beans. Once the grains are digested, they are taken from the excreta. They are then roasted and ground. It is said to be the most expensive coffee in the world!

  • Purdha Tea – Tibet

The base of this mixture is infused tea, but to it is added molten yak butter, salt, and barley flour.

  • Black Ivory Coffee – Thailand

Similarly to the Kopi Luwak coffee process, coffee beans are given to elephants to be picked up a few days later in their excrement.

  • Snake Blood – Thailand

Its name says it all. It is said to be an aphrodisiac, but also has virtues against flu and fever. It can be taken as is or mixed with something else.

  • Snake Wine – Vietnam

It is a wine made from rice in which macerates a reptile.

Conclusion

As you can see, my list is concentrated in Asia. I must admit for me, North American that I am, Asians have a strange way to surprise me with their food and drinks preparation. Thinking about it, I might be tempted by one of these concoctions.

Did you guess which one? And you, which of these beverages will you try first?
